Atlas Coin & Currency's principal is Will Rossman. Involved with rare coins since 1960, Will's resume presents a long progression of key positions with the nation's leading rare coin organizations. In 1988, he wrote the business plan that put the American Numismatic Association Certification Service (ANACS) into the encapsulated grading business. Following, was a stint with Blanchard and Company, the world's largest numismatic retailer. As Chief Trader, he bought millions of dollars in rare coins each month and developed solid business relationships in the numismatic marketplace. From 1994 to 2001, Will worked at Heritage Rare Coin Galleries, the world's largest numismatic firm. At Heritage, Will performed many functions under the titles Senior Numismatist and Director of Institutional Sales. Initially, he graded every coin to come through the system, recommending dispositions ranging from auction to specific grading services. As the needs of the company evolved, Will took over the rare coin management of the Heritage's largest wholesale account. A prolific writer, he has also helped create much of Heritage's promotional literature and videos. In 2000, he edited the popular and extremely useful "The Rare Coin Estate Handbook," a concise and pragmatic guide to numismatic estate planning that also includes tips for non-numismatic heirs who find themselves with an "unplanned" coin collection. Will left Heritage in the fall of 2001 and opened PEAK Numismatics. Since he and wife, Kathy, went out on their own, they have traveled the country visiting coins shop large and small, and attended all the major coin shows nationwide. In 2005, their son, Orion Jones, came on board to handle the rare coin sales and is now a partner in the business. Kathy is branching out into estate jewelry and rare gems and well on her way to becoming a graduate gemologist through the G.I.A.. On any given weekend, you can see OJ selling the Atlas inventory while Will acquires more. It is a wonderful relationship and allows the family to keep their fingers on the pulse of the marketplace. In July, 2006, the family formed Atlas Collectibles, LLC, the umbrella firm that encompasses the coin and collectibles activities, plus the new and exciting informational website, CoinAtlas.net! Effective September 1st, 2007, Atlas has moved to the East Coast of Florida and opened a coin shop in Port St. Lucie. This is another new venture and adventure for all. The business continues to change and expand, but they remain committed to family values and customer service. "Every coin has a best method of disposition," says Will. " Frequently, a major numismatic auction is the answer, but not always. The major auction companies know this, but they simply do not have the time (nor motivation) to analyze and act on YOUR best interests unless you know to ask and your disposition holdings warrant it. Direct sale is a minefield driven by your relative knowledge, the ethics of the buyer and the buyer's perception of available outlets for your material. I know the methods, the markets and the players. That allows me to PAY YOU MORE for your coins, or GET YOU EVEN MORE if you have more time to spend on their disposition. If you have a numismatic trust, estate, collection or even a small holding of individual pieces, contact me today to discuss your options!"
